Who pays for an ambulance call-out?
Rates for ambulance call-outs are set at cantonal level. In the event of illness, the basic health insurance of your health insurer covers 50% of the rescue costs, up to a maximum of CHF 5,000 per year. For a medically necessary transport that is not an emergency, it is 50%, up to a maximum of CHF 500 per year. In the event of an accident, the accident insurance usually pays. Many supplementary insurance policies cover part of the remaining costs.
I have received an invoice. What do I need to do?
Check whether your health or accident insurance pays the invoice directly and, if necessary, submit it to them. If you have any questions about the invoice, write to us at info@rdnws.ch or use the contact form (enquiry ‘Question about an invoice’). Please state the invoice number.
Which hospital will I be taken to?
Our team decides this based on your state of health. We take you to the hospital best suited to your treatment. We take your wishes into account if this is medically justifiable.
Can relatives travel with the patient?
If the situation allows, one accompanying person may travel with the patient, in the case of children usually a parent. The team on the scene decides on a case-by-case basis.
I left something in the ambulance.
Please contact our administration. We will check whether the item has been found and arrange its return with you.

Can I see my care report?
Yes, you have the right to inspect your patient data. Send your request in writing to our administration and enclose a copy of your identity document. To protect your data, we do not give out medical information over the phone.
